About Us
Welcome to the Good Earth Designs. My name is Christena Shreve-Elza and I am the owner, designer and spirited creative force behind the foliage. I absolutely love what I am blessed to do everyday of my life and truly get so excited to be able to bring the visions and dreams to reality for my clients.
I've had a wonderful experience bringing these visions to life after working for several companies over many years. I was able to study abroad furthering my love for architecture and garden design but having my own company allows me to meet all sorts of wonderful people and work with them on their projects.
I am from the beautiful state of West Virginia and received my degree in Interior Design and Historic Preservation from West Virginia University. I studied with The Victorian Society in London, England where I was able to fully understand the importance of garden design and how it relates to home architecture. I also studied in Newport, Rhode Island which also allowed me to collaborate the importance of architecture and garden design furthering my passion for design.
Once I graduated I took the leap and move to Georgia and that is where my professional career started. I worked at Smith & Hawken for 5 wonderful years where I learned so much about exquisite garden tool design, beautiful furniture design and home accents that are so vitally important. I had a couple super cute kiddos in the process and afterwards I ended up at my local Pike's where I began to learn about plants, trees, shrubs and so much more. I began teaching container design classes and would help customers design and select their plants and draw garden designs, that is when I decided I need to take the leap and start my own design company.
This is how The Good Earth Designs began.....I started this exciting endeavor with the intention and purpose to be able to work around plants and treat it like an artist would an empty canvas. This is how I work, this is how my creativity comes to life.
After all these years I am still so excited to see spring roll around and watch all the new plants uncurl themselves and bring forth their beauty, equally important is watching all the different season come forth with all their uniqueness. This is what makes me happy.
After all my hard work I am still designing for The Good Earth Designs but I am also part of another dynamic team at Twin Branch Nursery, where I get to design for their clients and bring the same passion to every job. This magical nursery gives me everything I need, plus they have best selection of plants in Georgia. Not only do I get to design gardens and containers but I get to work with a fabulous group of very talented and knowledgable staff. I still love the thrill of getting my hands in the dirt, bringing plants to life through passionate design and bringing beauty into the world through the magical world of plants.
